About me

I was born and grew up in a rural area in southern Germany. From there I first moved to London and then to Leipzig and Brighton to study. From Leipzig I moved to Berlin in 2007, where I started supporting artists in the field of dance, choreography and performance in the realisation of their projects and ideas.

As a producer I have worked for many years with Begüm Erciyas, Christina Ciupke and Josep Caballero García, among others. I have supervised stage pieces, immersive performances, choreographic sketches, performative installations and audio walks in theatres, museums, galleries, urban spaces and forests on a national and international level and collaborated on projects with Xavier Le Roy, Juan Dominguez and Naoko Tanaka, among others.

In addition to my work for individual artists, I have been responsible as production manager for a number of festivals, e.g. Context #6_Politics of Ecstasy, Hebbel am Ufer, Berlin 2009 and three editions of Tanznacht Berlin (2012 - 2016), organised by Tanzfabrik Berlin. In addition, I co-curated and realised the framework programme for Tanzplattform Deutschland 22 with the team from HAU Hebbel am Ufer.

Together with Sarah Parolin, we initiated the project Backbone Berlin in 2021, a platform that deals with the sustainable promotion of artistic practice and its working structures. In the same year, Backbone became part of Fortuna, a self-organised project space in Neukölln. Since 2022 I have been part of the team of directors of Tanzfabrik Berlin, one of the oldest dance institutions in the city.

In workshops, seminars and as a mentor, I pass on and enrich my knowledge at Tanzbüro Berlin, PAP Performing Arts Programme, the Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin, RESO Switzerland, among others.

From 2017 to 2021 I was on the board of ZTB Zeitgenössischer Tanz Berlin e.V.. Since then, I have been actively involved in processes to improve funding and working conditions for dance professionals in Berlin and beyond.
